The Prism Initiative
Shaping the Future of Mental Health—One Therapist at a Time
Black and Brown communities face significant mental health challenges—but remain deeply underrepresented among licensed therapists. Prism is a transformative initiative to change that. Led by Our Therapy Lab, Prism builds pathways for underrepresented individuals to become empowered mental health professionals.
Why Prism?
Over 70% of licensed mental health professionals in the U.S. are white.
Clients of color are more likely to drop out of therapy due to cultural mismatch.
Systemic barriers—like the cost of education and lack of mentorship—prevent many aspiring therapists from completing their training.

Ivy Tech Community College Culinary and Conference Center
2820 N Meridian St. Indianapolis, IN 46208
The PRISM Summit, a professional learning and networking experience bringing together clinicians, behavioral health professionals, educators, community leaders, and partners committed to strengthening behavioral and mental health services.
The Summit will explore four interconnected areas:
Business Development – Building sustainable practices, navigating practice management, marketing, reimbursement models, and professional growth.
Clinical Innovation – Exploring emerging therapeutic approaches, neuroscience, somatic practices, creative interventions, and culturally responsive adaptations.
Evidence-Based Treatment – Strengthening the use and application of research-supported practices while considering culture, identity, community, and the lived experiences of the populations clinicians serve.
Behavior Intervention – Advancing behavioral assessment, intervention strategies, applied behavioral principles, and contemporary approaches for supporting individuals, families, and communities.
More than a one-day conference, the PRISM Summit is designed to strengthen relationships and infrastructure across the behavioral health community—creating space for professionals to exchange knowledge, develop meaningful connections, identify opportunities for collaboration, and expand their collective impact throughout Indianapolis and beyond.
